This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
Family First Health was started in 1970 from a movement started by H. Jack Geiger, physician and civil rights activist. By addressing the roots of illness drawn from community concerns, early health centers like Family First Health pioneered an effective method for approaching health care in under served communities.
Today, there are almost a thousand community health centers in the United States, making health care accessible for more than 11.5 million patients each year.
Family First Health is proud to be one of these centers that provide compassionate and comprehensive health services to people seeking accessible and affordable quality care.
Programs including Healthy York Network, Caring Together and our Nurse-Family Partnerships keep Family First Health at the forefront of answering the needs of our patients and the communities we serve.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
We encourage learning and improvement among our patients, clinicians and staff as a collective undertaking. We challenge our existing ways of doing business to find new and better ways of doing things well. We collaborate to address problems and mistakes constructively, learn from them and contribute to a solution that decreases their recurrence.
Fiscal Responsibility
We are good stewards of our limited resources in order to manage costs for our communities and to ensure viability to continue to provide great services into the future.
Integrity
We conduct ourselves with the highest ethical standards; we strive to do what’s right for our patients and our community and carry out our relationships with a spirit of fairness, honesty and openness.
Serving Everyone
We provide quality care to all in need regardless of ability to pay.
Respect
We treat everyone we serve, and those we work with, the way we would want to be treated – with dignity, respect, courtesy and compassion. We value differences and strive for inclusion.
Patient Centered
We provide a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for our patients and make their health, safety, comfort, needs and expectations our first priority.
Collaboration
We work as a team for the good of our patients, our community and our organization. We partner with other organizations to improve health care in our community and better meet the needs of our patients.
