DENTAL HYGIENIST (FT) - Provides comprehensive dental hygiene services for the patients of the Family First Health and participates in instrument sterilization, performs dental x-rays and assists the dentist in laboratory work.
Essential duties of the position include:
1. Cleans and cares for teeth within the scope of dental standards of care including polishing, scaling and root planning. Provides preventive treatments, such as topical application of fluoride and dental sealants.
2. Instructs patients in proper techniques of flossing, brushing, and disclosing to help remedy any problems detected.
3. Accurately and thoroughly completes chart information and follows up with radiographic surveys.
4. Assists in the training of assisting staff as required.
5. Maintains treatment and lab rooms and ensures the daily disinfecting, cleaning and set up is complete.
6. Cleans and maintains the dental lab work area daily and the equipment as necessary including disposal of diagnostic models, maintenance of vacuum pump, flushing and cleaning suction hoses, and others as needed.
7. Monitors and maintains autoclave equipment and dental instruments as necessary to ensure OSHA compliance sterile condition and technique.
8. Monitors and documents radiology badge and testing.
9. Performs cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.
10. Participates in peer review and performance improvement activities as required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.

DENTAL ASSISTANTS (FT) - Dental Assistants perform all duties required to effectively assist a dental provider through chair side assisting, the preparation of treatment rooms for procedures and proper clean up and sterilization of rooms and equipment. Flexibility required to travel to the Hanover Dental Center as needed for office coverage.
Essential duties of the position include:
1. Prepares rooms for treatment & sanitizes after treatment according to established protocol.
2. Escorts patient from waiting room to dental chair.
3. Reviews medical history and obtains vitals and consent forms when applicable.
4. Informs dental provider of information given by the patient or questions asked by patient.
5. Performs suction during procedures.
6. Performs sterilization of instruments.
7. Assists dental provider during treatment using four handed dentistry approach.
8. Maintains charts, performs charting during exams, and updates treatment plan.
9. Provides post- operative instructions to patients as directed by the dental provider as required.
10. Takes and develops radiographs and takes, pours and trims impressions.
11. Performs all sterilization functions.
12. Performs routine equipment maintenance including but not limited to changing traps and cleaning suction lines.
13. Tracks and prepares dental lab cases for transport.
14. Performs inventory, orders supplies and maintains the tag system to ensure that the practice is adequately stocked.
15. Assists in the training of new assisting staff.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications: Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience/training and PA x-ray certification.
